ingredient commonly mixed with carbonated soft drinks, energy drinks and
teas in Brazil. It is rich in caffeine and contains amount of caffeine
that is five times more than in coffee. Guarana may cause insomnia,
trembling, anxiety, palpitations, urinary frequency, and hyperactivity.
Guarana should be avoided during pregnancy and lactation. People with
cardiac problems or high blood pressure should also avoid the use of
